Latin: Nelumbo-nucifera
Color: Pastel pink with yellow centers.
Plant: Lotus is a water plant with roots that reach deep into the muddy earth. The petals of its flower close each night with the Moon and descends under the water, only to arise each morning as the Sun heralds in a new day. In the center of the flower a capsule contains thousands of nut-like seeds. These seeds can sprout after laying dormant for centuries. Before creation, the Hindus believed that all the World was the Golden Lotus, Matripadma, the Mother Lotus, or, Womb of Nature".
FLOWER ESSENCE: As an elixir, the Lotus stimulates Divine Inspiration and Spiritual Forces. It is able to move the dark and muddy forces of our psyche through the emotions, upward, toward an enlightened state. The crown chakra, or Seventh Sacred center of the Body, is balanced and harmonized. Lotus assists us in receiving guidance and insight, and can strengthen meditative states of consciousness where deep wisdom and tranquility are found. Lotus should be used with humble gratitude, for it is assisting humanity greatly at this time.
ARCHETYPE: Quan-Yin
Quan-Yin is the representation of the feminine principal of creation; the Mother aspect of Deity. To Gnostic Christians, she was known as Holy Spirit and World Mother. She has been said to usher in the Golden Balance within the hearts of all people, and mirrors to humanity the True Self.
Quan-Yin appears to those in time of spiritual crisis and suffering, for she is also known as the Mother of Compassion. Her receptive nature is that of water who, like the Lotus, carries the emblem as the "Womb of Life".
HEALING: There are various points along the spinal column called chakras. Seven of these center points have assisted humanity in becoming aligned with physical and spiritual forces. The seventh center, the crown chakra, activates the pineal gland and the area of the brain connected to higher insight and intuition. The crown chakra is associated with the Thousand Petaled Lotus.
The orientals used the Lotus to signify the growth of human consciousness through three laws of evolution; Ignorance, Endeavor, and Understanding. In perfect reflection, the Lotus exists in three worlds: 1). The earth (its roots extend upward from the muddy lake bottom); 2). Water (the stem is surrounded and supported by water); 3). Air (the flower blossoms in the daylight). The lotus represents the evolutionary cycle of humanity as we move through the physical, emotional, and spiritual worlds toward greater understanding.
Quan Yin has come to you today to honor your life as you aspire toward higher visions of love and compassion. Your yearning for spiritual clarity is being answered.
Quan Yin sits on the Thousand Petaled Throne which in ancient culture represented the female Yoni, a symbol of receptive light and love. She honors the waters of life, The Great Womb, where all spiritual seekers must visit in order to understand the Matrix Mother Love and Divine Compassion. This card implies spiritual birth. The vessel at her side is a gift offered to you, for it holds the mystery of the world within it's container. You are crowned with the Thousand Petaled Lotus, for many seeds of wisdom are germinating within you. What new insights are you about to birth?
BLESSING:
Divine Lotus
