Every now and then a client or friend will want to consult the Tarot about their health. The Tarot can be an accurate guide concerning this personal issue, but it is crucial that you understand some fundamental information before attempting to look into this for someone.

Knowing the elements and how they respond to body temperament and health is important.

Earth...Pentacles, Discs, Crystals: This suit will tell you if it is a physical issue and whether and will give some clues as to the area of the body in question. Ace will be the head, two will be the balance and immune system, three will be the heart area, four will be the root chakra and the grounding factor, five will be the solar plexus, six will be breath and balance again, seven will be the assimilation and digestion, eight will be sexual and reproductive areas, and nine will be skin, rashes, and unleashed toxins that need to come clean. Ten is a potential signal that illness is moving out, and transformation is at hand.

Water...Cups, Hearts, Chalice: This suit will offer you information on the emotional well being of the person. It can indicate that the symptoms are emotionally based, and you can direct them into a deeper understanding of what is being clung to or what fears are guiding a persons decisions. Also can be matters of the heart or circulatory system.

Fire...Wands, Rods: This suit is offering information on the digestion and assimilation process. It will also show if there is stuck creative energy that is causing inertia, constipation, pain in the lower region of the body below the belly button. The 2nd chakra will be greatly effected. Often a person is not doing what they want to be doing in life.

Air...Swords. Mental constructs and thought patterns are the most powerful unconscious reason we become physically ill. By unconscious, I do not mean we should blame ourselves, but these of course are often hidden thoughts that date back farther than we can remember, sometimes past life. Clearing our shame, blame, judgment, fear, anger, limiting beliefs, and oppression is of course a way to be in good balance and health. Headaches, nausea, irritability, and confusions are all sword ailments.

The Major Arcana cards can give us powerful information. They are deep soul messages coming in and must be observed.

The Death card will indicate that deep changes are greatly shaping the life with core issues. One may be fearing death, and thus Death appears in order to see how we are responding to its appearance. There may be an immanent death at hand, and the Tarot, the powerful mirror that it is, will offer the truth up. But as you know, the Death card is not always, and most times not, an actual indication of death of the physical body. This is why it is important to see what suits are surrounding it.

The Hermit card is a card that will indicate some need for rest and peace and a time out from the hectic pace of the world. Being the Virgo card, it can appear when there is a health issue at hand. This is in the moment awareness.

The Chariot card will indicate a need for a balance of the material and spiritual realms. One is on there way back home, and if one is very ill this can be a beautiful card calling them back to their source. (Swing low sweet chariot, comin' for to carry me home......)

The Devil card will indicate an issue with sex, guilt, shame, or some kind of disease contracted from sexual contact.
