The structure of the Tarot:
78 cards in total.
40 minor cards or "lesser mysteries".
16 court cards.
22 Major Arcana cards or "greater mysteries".
There are four suits consisting of a total of 56 cards, 10 numerical cards and 4 court cards in each suit.
Four Suits are represented by the four elements of water, air, fire, and earth and they represent four planes of consciousness: the emotional plane (cups), the spiritual plane (wands), the mental plane (swords), and the physical plane (pentacles).
Each card in each suit represents a particular aspect of human experience.
Ones...opening and beginning...these are the aces and they are gifts to the soul.
Twos...polorized energies. Balance. What needs to harmonize in ones life.
Threes...Dimensional experience...trinity and initiation. Coming together of obstacles and uniting with new harmony.
Fours...becoming stable...creating new form and structure
Fives...energy begins to move...chaos...creativity
Six...energy reestablishes..unity...success
Sevens...energy becomes complex...research for new meaning...quiet.
Eights...growth...mastery...hard work...tasks
Nines...highest point...complete...service...
Tens...fulfilled energy...move out into new experience...ready for an ace.
