The planet Venus, in all its magnificent, radiant beauty, comes within 24 miles of Earth at closest approach, closer than any other planet and within kissing distance in interplanetary terms. This very intimate relationship between Venus and the Earth is one of great blessings and love, as evidenced by Venus' graceful movement through the Heavens, which creates a spectacular five-pointed star pattern in the sky every eight years (as Venus and the Sun encounter conjunctions). This celestial pentagram is mirrored on Earth in the form of the five-petaled flowers - in particular, those of the rose family. These Venusian emissaries have been associated with love and romance for, perhaps, as long as there have been human beings to behold them.

Update May 8, 2012. While the world still awaits an answer as to what is causing the deaths of thousands of dolphins off the coast of Peru, at least 1,200 pelicans that have been found deceased along the Peruvian coast in the last couple of weeks.
