Mayan Forecast 2012

OMG, The Mayans Were Right! (5/20/12)Astrologer, Tara McKinney, highlights the days, weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, using transits to the Mayan Chichen Itza, 2012, sunrise chart as his primary reference point. Tara will be weighing in with timely insights and reflections regarding cycles and events as they unfold worldwide, so check in with us regularly for the latest developments and breaking news.
OMG, The Mayans Were Right! (5/20/12) By Tara McKinney On February 3, 2012, mystical Neptune moved into its home constellation of Pisces, where it will remain until 2026. As this occurred, we entered a phase similar to the Renaissance, with its emphasis on transcendence and rebirth through artistic expression, in particular, in its most sublime and esoteric forms. Then on April 15, 2012, the fixed star Regulus, aka “The Heart of the Lion,” shifted from the constellation Leo, the sign of the kingly Patriarch (where it has been for over 2,000 years), into the constellation Virgo, the sign of the Virgin, or inviolate Feminine. Finally, on June 5, 2012, in a rare Transit of Venus, the planet associated with artistic expression and the Goddess of Love, will move across the face of the Sun, Her energies illuminated, enhanced and celebrated, like an Academy Award winning actress in her prime, spotlighted at center stage, taking her bows and bestowing her many blessings upon her adoring fans. These three major celestial events, happening in close proximity in 2012, have inspired a new, tongue-in-cheeky musical, “OMG, The Mayans Were Right! A Post-Apocalyptic Time Travel Musical Evening,” which will premier on the evening of May 26, 2012, here in New Orleans at the United Astrological Conference. According to OMG’s creator, the astronomical events described above, plus “the right mix of ingenious music” during the performance on May 26th, will cause “a rip in the fabric of space-time.” Furthermore, “during such a ‘temporal vortex,’ individuals having lived in different eras of Earth’s history will be able to move back and forth in time to briefly encounter each other.” All kidding aside (or perhaps he’s not kidding?), we most definitely do live in extraordinary times, as measured by whatever criteria one might wish to apply, including astrological. For example, this Sunday, May 20th (at 4:47 p.m. PDT), we will cross the threshold into an extraordinarily potent and transformative New Moon phase. It’s exceptional for several reasons: 1) It happens to fall in the early degrees of Taurus (sidereal), where it is exalted; 2) This phase coincides with a Venus retrograde cycles in Taurus (which Venus rules), encompassing Venus’ Transit of the Sun on June 5th; and, 3) The New Moon coincides exactly with a Solar Eclipse. (For more detailed information on the significance of the May 20th New Moon phase, please see my New and Full Moon Forecast for 5/20/2012 in the Astrology section.) The question under consideration in this feature is: How does this New Moon/Solar Eclipse impact the Chichen Itza chart for December 21, 2012, thereby helping to fulfill Mayan prophecy? The New Moon and Sun, exactly conjunct on May 20th at 6+ degrees Taurus (sidereal), also happen to be conjunct the South Node of the Moon at 11+ degrees Taurus and directly opposing the North Node of the Moon at 11+ degrees Scorpio. The Activation Point axis for the Finger of Fate formation in the Mayan chart, shows Jupiter at 14+ degrees Taurus, with Venus in opposition at 12+ degrees Scorpio. As mentioned previously, the sacred geometry of this particular Finger of Fate symbolizes the revolutionary call for deep transformation, spiritual liberation and unconditional love. Both the New Moon and eclipsing Sun in Taurus symbolize the birth of an entirely new dimension of love on Planet Earth. The South Node/North Node axis thrown into the mix strongly suggests that positive karmic influences from our collective past, plus spirit guides and helpers, are coming to the fore at this time in order to assist us in achieving Unity Consciousness as a species. Mayan Starglyph for 5/20/2012: The Mayan Starglyph for the New Moon on May 20th is Chicchan (Serpent) #10. The Serpent is electrifying in its presence, representing a very high level of intelligence, plus magical powers capable of bearing potent new energies. The number ten is all about manifestation. Persons born on days with this tone have a particularly strong capacity to turn intentions and ideas into material reality, although this energy is available to anyone, on days with this number. This is also a powerful energy that carries with it great responsibility.

Cinco de Mayo: Let Freedom Ring (5/5/12)Astrologer, Tara McKinney, highlights the days, weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, using transits to the Mayan Chichen Itza, 2012, sunrise chart as his primary reference point. Tara will be weighing in with timely insights and reflections regarding cycles and events as they unfold worldwide, so check in with us regularly for the latest developments and breaking news.
Cinco de Mayo: Let Freedom Ring (5/5/12) By Tara McKinney On May 5, 1862, the Mexican Army, though greatly outnumbered, defeated French forces at the Battle of Puebla in Puebla, Mexico. Since that original Cinco de Mayo date, no imperial army has engaged in battle against the people of the Americas on American soil, whether in North, Central or South America. For these and other reasons, Cinco de Mayo has historically been a day when citizens of the U.S. and parts of Mexico celebrate the cause of freedom and democracy. The Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, had important consequences for the United States, in particular: it denied Napoleon III the opportunity to resupply the Confederate rebels, enabling the Union Army to eventually win the Civil War. In the Mayan astrological system, May 5, 2012, is associated with the starglyph OC (dog) #8. This day sign ushers in the spirit of collaboration and spiritual loyalty, plus a steadfast sense of fidelity, reliability and bravery. The number eight represents justice, harmony and balance. Think of the Justice Card in the Major Arcana of the Tarot. Blindfolded and holding the scales of justice, Lady Justice weighs all evidence with a beginner’s mind, free of preconceived notions and biases. Her overriding concern is for truth and fairness to prevail across the land. These qualities are the only adequate foundation for real freedom and democracy on a global scale. As I ponder the synastry chart for May 5, 2012, overlaid upon the chart for December 21, 2012, which marks the end of the Mayan calendar (as described above in italics), I see that the slow moving, transpersonal outer planets (Pluto, Uranus, Neptune, Uranus, Chiron) are already in alignment between the two charts (with the exception of Saturn which still has a few degrees to go). It’s the faster moving personal planets (Venus, Mars, Mercury, the Sun and Moon), that are functioning like tumblers in a combination safe, still spinning around the central hub (which happens to be our beloved planet Earth), not destined to fall into place until the final moments of the Mayan calendar. As they do, a massive birth canal or portal opens, into what we can only speculate. In the meantime, it’s important to realize that we are already living our collective future (represented by the outer planets) in a very real sense. Paradoxically, that future is already here, yet the personal choices we make and the actions we take (represented by the inner planets) in the days, weeks and months leading up to that future, are still of utmost importance. As I have mentioned in a couple of other posts recently, because it bears repeating: humanity is now entering into a period of intensely powerful and revolutionary astrological configurations, which will surely transform our lives in profoundly radical ways. These including: the New Moon/Solar Eclipse of May 20th; the Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse of June 4th; the Transit of Venus of June 5th; Venus rising as the Morning Star on June 7th; the Summer Solstice of June 20th; and, last but not least, the exact Uranus/Pluto Square of June 24th! So, please remember this as you go about your day in the coming months: Everything you think, feel and do matters. It really matters. It matters more than ever before. You matter. You are meant to play your part in this emergent evolutionary drama. Please stay awake, listen to your guidance and act accordingly.

Venusian Awakening 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl (4/6/12)Astrologer, Tara McKinney, highlights the days, weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, using transits to the Mayan Chichen Itza, 2012, sunrise chart as his primary reference point. Tara will be weighing in with timely insights and reflections regarding cycles and events as they unfold worldwide, so check in with us regularly for the latest developments and breaking news.
Venusian Awakening 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl (4/6/12) By Tara McKinney The planet Venus is known as the “Evening Star” and the “Morning Star,” and is symbolic, on the deeper esoteric levels, of the death and rebirth process associated, cross-culturally, with the Gods of death and resurrection, including Christ in the monotheistic world and Quetzalcoatl (the Feathered Serpent) in Mesoamerican culture. This is because from the vantage point of the Earth, Venus does appear to die and be reborn in cyclic fashion every 584 days. For the first 263 days of the cycle, Venus descends incrementally, a little more each night, becoming dimmer and dimmer in the evening sky, until finally, on the 264th night, it dramatically drops out of view entirely for a period of 8 days. Subsequently, Venus suddenly rises in the early morning sky just before sunrise, as if resurrecting and heralding the dawn, gradually reaching its maximum brightness over the next 263 days. For the final 50 days of the cycle, it again disappears from view, after which the cycle begins anew. We began the year, 2012, about which so much has been prophesied, with Venus in its attitude of descent as the Evening Star, in clear view in the West as darkness begins to fall. It will disappear from view in May as it passes between the Earth and the Sun and will actually transit across the face of the Sun on June 5th and 6th (as I have mentioned previously), staging its last such transit for the next 105 years and shining a stellar spotlight on the Divine Feminine in the process. Venus will majestically rise up from the depths of the Underworld as the Morning Star a few days after its transit of the Sun and will remain in this attitude of ascent through the end of the year and beyond. The transit, itself, as well as the ensuing resurrection, are astrological events of monumental proportions. According to the Mayan Calendar, we are again in a time when Quetzalcoatl will return. The symbol that will herald the coming of this deity is the Morning Star: the planet Venus in all her glory. The savior will come from the East like a shining star. Since Venus is the Goddess of love, her role as the harbinger of the dawn will proclaim the coming of a balanced, awakened teacher, or even better, the balanced, awakened teacher in each and every one of us. Finger of Fate and the Venus Activation Point Now to relate all of this to the Venus Activation Point in the Finger of Fate formation of the December 21st, 2012, sunrise chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico. By now it should be clear that Venus isn’t just any old planet in the Mayan scheme of things. It is the planet around which the entire Mayan calendrical system and Mayan prophecy have been formulated. It’s also an inner planet representing personal love, which is obviously good news for a couple of reason: first, because love in any form is always a good thing; and second, because the rest of the planets in the 2012 Finger of Fate formation, Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter, are impersonal outer planets, so a personal, inner planet brings some balance to the overall equation. Given that Saturn represents karma, or karmic return, Pluto is the planet of revolutionary transformation and Jupiter is associated with mass movements, expansion and spiritual attainment, the big picture being spotlighted at this time is the revolutionary call for deep transformation and spiritual liberation, as I’ve written about previously in more detail. It’s also about heeding the call and, against all odds, putting our lives on the line in the pursuit of freedom and the spirit of real love, even tough love, if necessary. Juno Conjunct the Venus Activation Point Synergistically, the very Venusian asteroid, Juno, happens to be conjunct the Venus Activation Point in the 2012 chart this week at 12+ degrees Scorpio (sidereal), the constellation associated with shamanic death and rebirth. Think of Juno as a kind of Lady Liberty (of Statue of Liberty fame) for the entire world, epitomizing the Divine Feminine under siege, coerced, but never really subdued, by an alien conqueror. As the ruler of those who lack power in relationships of all kinds, Juno acts as a universal icon for the oppressed masses. And because she never ceases to fight against injustice, Juno rules those who fight for the rights of the underdog, in the political, economic, educational and judicial arenas, in particular. First and foremost, she represents the strength not to pretend that some lesser gift is the fulfillment of one’s deepest needs, nor to deny the longing for true fulfillment. Conclusion As I write these words, I am reminded of the image of Quetzalcoatl (the Mayan Venus), carved in stone, slithering his way down the side of the great pyramidal temple in Chichen Itza, on his way to the Underworld just prior to his Return. His name, the Feathered Serpent, encapsulates the paradox of ascent/descent, or transcendence/ immanence. His feathers enable him to soar into the heavens, even while his serpentine nature connects him inextricably to the Earth. Let us welcome his Return in the coming days and months as we continue to engage in our own miraculous waking up/waking down process. |
Revolutionary Transformation: The Time is Now! (3/22/12)Astrologer, Tara McKinney, highlights the days, weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, using transits to the Mayan Chichen Itza, 2012, sunrise chart as his primary reference point. Tara will be weighing in with timely insights and reflections regarding cycles and events as they unfold worldwide, so check in with us regularly for the latest developments and breaking news.
In my first installment of this feature, I outlined what I considered the most significant aspect of the December 21, 2012, sunrise chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico: its exact conjunction between the Ascendant, Sun, Juno and Galactic Center, symbolizing the sacred marriage of masculine and feminine principles and the subsequent birth of a new, awakened version of humanity. Two weeks later, I highlighted another very important feature of the 2012 chart: A Finger of Fate (Yod) formation involving Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter, with Venus at its activation point, symbolizing the revolutionary call for deep transformation and spiritual liberation. The picture that emerges when we combine the basic energy of this powerful Finger of Fate configuration with the template of sacred marriage and the birth of a new species, is one in which such a marriage and rebirth will be accomplished out of the cleansing fires of a heart-centered, global revolution in consciousness and socio/political structures. Revolutionary Transformation: The Time is Now! (3/22/12) By Tara McKinney From the perspective of sidereal astrology, the slow moving, transpersonal planets of Revolution (Uranus) and Transformation (Pluto) have been squared in the mutable signs of Pisces and Sagittarius, respectively, since February 15, 2010, and will continue to be squared in these mutable signs until April 24, 2017. Within this seven-year period of intense Revolutionary Transformation, there are seven dates when the squaring of Uranus and Pluto will be exact. I recommend circling these dates on your calendar since they highlight general time frames when the potential for shocking, sudden, unexpected and unforeseen Revolutionary Transformation will be most heightened on a global scale, as well as within your personal life*: June 24, 2012 September 19, 2012 May 21, 2013 November 1, 2013 April 22, 2014 December 15, 2014 March 17, 2015 Obviously, the seven-year Uranus/Pluto square encompasses the December 21, 2012, end date for the Mayan Calendar. In the Chichen Itza chart for that date, in fact, Uranus and Pluto are squared within 4 degrees with Pluto conjunct the Sun, Juno and the Ascendant (as discussed in earlier installments of this Mayan Forecast 2012 feature). On the subject of the Uranus/Pluto square, the March 22, 2012, New Moon in Pisces (sidereal) happens to be conjunct not only Mercury, the Sun, Vesta and the Ascendant, but also Uranus, who’s square to Pluto is currently 5 degrees wide. When we overlay the December 21, 2012, chart with the New Moon chart, in order to highlight the relationship between now and then, we see that this configuration sets up a very potent synastry, or synchronicity, to the Winter Solstice singularity point, opening a significant portal to that very auspicious time. In a nutshell, in the synastry chart between the New Moon of March 22 and the Winter Solstice of December 21, we have the energy of discernment (Mercury), the archetypal feminine and new beginnings (the New Moon), the archetypal masculine (the Sun), revolution (Uranus), the inviolate feminine (Vesta), and rebirth (the Ascendant) squaring off with the energy of transformation (Pluto), the archetypal masculine (the Sun), sacred marriage (Juno) and rebirth (Ascendant). In other words, today’s New Moon in Pisces serves to underscore and strengthen the basic impetus of the Mayan end date for transformation and rebirth of our species through the sacred marriage of archetypal masculine and feminine principles. (*NOTE: For those of you with several planets in mutable signs at 13 through 20 degrees (in the sidereal system), or in cardinal signs at 6 through 15 degrees (in Western astrology), the energy of Revolutionary Transformation will be especially significant and impactful for you on a personal level over the next three years, in particular.)

The Transit of Venus: Trigger Point to December 21, 2012 (3/8/12)Astrologer, Tara McKinney, highlights the days, weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, using transits to the Mayan Chichen Itza, 2012, sunrise chart as his primary reference point. The Transit of Venus: Trigger Point to December 21, 2012 By Tara McKinney As you may have noticed, I always try to correlate my Mayan Forecast 2012 installments with the New and Full Moon cycles. This installment coincides with the Full Moon on March 8, 2012, located at 24+ of Leo (sidereal). According to the Vedic system of Astrology, this Full Moon placement falls within the Lunar Mansion known as Purva Phalguni, or “The Sacred Marriage Bed.” Five thousand years ago in ancient India, Purva Phalguni occurred at the time of the Summer Solstice, combining the energies of Venus and the Sun, and marking the marriage of the Sky Goddess to her Divine Consort. Connecting the dots, in the Full Moon chart for March 8, the asteroid Juno (Goddess of the sacred marriage of masculine and feminine principles) happens to be situated at the exact same degree of Scorpio as the Venus activation point for the Finger of Fate in the sunrise, December 21, 2012, chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico. In keeping with her sacred marriage archetype, Juno seems to be playing matchmaker between Venus and the Sun, as well as between the March 8th Full Moon portal and the December 21, 2012, birthing event, given the above synastry, plus her natal conjunction with the Sun (Ascendant and Galactic Center) in the December 21, 2012, chart. The relationship between Venus and the Sun has been on my mind a lot lately as I have been contemplating the much-anticipated and very rare Transit of Venus which will occur on June 5 & 6, 2012 (depending on where you happen to live on planet Earth). This is the last time Venus will transit in front of the Sun in our lifetimes (and it happens to fall on my birthday!). The next time this will occur is 105 years from now in 2117. The significance of this upcoming Transit of Venus cannot be overstated, since according to Mayan prophecy the renewed world of new consciousness will be born on the occasion of the Venus Passage across the Sun of June 5 & 6, 2012. Previous cycles show that global communications and a shift in consciousness regarding the scope and nature of the world are all part of these transits. How much more so just six months prior to the end of the Mayan calendar? Venus is the embodiment of the Divine Feminine, along with her immense creativity and revolutionary potential. So when Venus aligns with the Sun (from our Earth's perspective), the masculine life force of the Sun is united with love, female energy, harmony and the Goddess principle. The sacred marriage is accomplished. The portal that open at the time of the Full Moon on March 8th sets the stage for the June 5 & 6th trigger point aimed directly at sunrise on December 21, 2012 and the end of time as we know it.

The Breath of Spirit Carried on the Winds of Transformation (2/7/12)Astrologer, Tara McKinney, highlights the days, weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, using transits to the Mayan Chichen Itza, 2012, sunrise chart as his primary reference point. Tara will be weighing in with timely insights and reflections regarding cycles and events as they unfold worldwide, so check in with us regularly for the latest developments and breaking news.
The Breath of Spirit Carried on the Winds of Transformation By Tara McKinney The Mayan Star Glyph for February 7, 2012, is Ix: the breath of spirit or breath of life. One of the most spiritual of day signs, Ix embodies the power of uplifting communication, the dissemination of positive ideas and the spreading of spiritual inspiration, as if carried on the wind. Coinciding nicely with the highly-spiritual predispositions of the Mayan Star Glyph IX, the Full Moon phase beginning on this date is in the latter degrees of Cancer (sidereal). A Cancerian Full Moon is in its own watery, maternal element, which makes it especially full, as if in the process of giving birth to itself out of the great ocean of pure awareness. Furthermore, as is always the case with a Full Moon, the Sun is directly opposing it, in this case, in the latter degrees of Capricorn exactly conjunct Mercury. The Sun/Mercury conjunction here brings the combined qualities of illumination, discernment and wind-like fluidity to the already enhanced, intuitive energies of this Full Moon. In addition, the February 7 Full Moon happens to fall in the Pisces decanate (the last ten degrees of Cancer) and, consequently, is trining the Moon in the December 21, 2012, sunrise chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico, which is in Pisces, and also in the Pisces decanate. This lunar synastry opens up a very sensitive, soulful, emotional, mystical portal of energy between the second week of February, 2012, and the much-anticipated Winter Solstice, 2012. Edgar Cayce channeled information about this particular lunar placement, which I have shared in previous features. It bears repeating here, as it helps us understand the very advanced and intensely mystical nature of various past lifetimes and “interlife realms” that we, as a species, may be tapping into at the present time:
While in one of his trance states, Cayce also provided insights into the ancestral origins of the Maya, asserting that they had come from Atlantis, Lemuria and Egypt, and further that the Atlanteans left information in the Yucatan Peninsula, in the form of what Cayce called “The Hall of Records,” pertaining to the crystalline energy source that characterized Atlantean technology and civilization. Perhaps it is these records that we tap into each time another portal opens between the present time and December 21, 2012. In any case, the window of opportunity that opens with this New Moon allows us to breathe deeply of the sweet nectar of Spirit being delivered to us on the winds of every accelerating transformation.

Willingness to Walk in the Dark Forest (1/22/12)Astrologer, Tara McKinney, highlights the days, weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, using transits to the Mayan Chichen Itza, 2012, sunrise chart as his primary reference point. Willingness to Walk in the Dark Forest By Tara McKinney On January 22, 2012, with the New Moon at 8+ degrees Capricorn (sidereal) conjunct the Sun, in a T square with Saturn in Libra and Jupiter in Aries, the general message is clear: during this very auspicious lunar phase, it’s all about finding the balance point between the freedom and expansiveness of Jupiter and the discipline and gravitational grounding of Saturn. Put another way, it’s about keeping the big 4th dimensional picture fully in mind while embracing the 3rd dimensional karmic circumstances in which we find ourselves. In keeping with this theme, the Mayan star glyph for January 22, 2012, is Cimi #8, which highlights the importance of finding harmonic balance through surrender to the process of death and rebirth. The gifts, opportunities and challenges of this star glyph are described in The Mayan Oracle (by Ariel Spilsbury & Michael Bryner):

Getting to the Root of the Problem (12/10/11)Astrologer, Tara McKinney, highlights the days, weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, using transits to the Mayan Chichen Itza, 2012, sunrise chart as his primary reference point. Mayan Forecast 2012 (12/10/11): Getting to the Root of the Problem By Tara McKinney As I shared in my New and Full Moon Forecast for this time period, we will be entering a Full Moon phase on Saturday, December 10, coinciding with a Total Lunar Eclipse, at 24+ degrees of Taurus (sidereal) in the decanate of Capricorn. I like to correlate these Mayan Forecast 2012 pieces with the New and Full Moon phases because these are such powerful openings into the soul. What Edgar Cayce has to say about soul reprogramming and self-purification, associated with the Moon in Capricorn decanate, is all the more powerful and relevant to us at this moment in our collective evolution, given the added emphasis of the Full Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse:
The possibility of a “fresh start” is certainly what is needed at this time. And, throughout our long evolutionary process, the human race has never made a fresh start leap in consciousness, without first finding ourselves between a rock and a hard place; in other words, without being absolutely forced into it by our material conditions and circumstances. By all indications, we are in the throes of such a species-altering predicament once again in these final weeks before the ringing in of the 2012 New Year. Ascendant at 12+ degrees Scorpio conjunct Venus Activation Point Within minutes of the Full Moon and Total Lunar Eclipse, the Ascendant, or birth moment, in the Full Moon chart will exactly conjunct the Venus Activation Point in the Chichen Itza sunrise chart for December 21, 2012. The Sabian Symbol for this position is:
What I take from the above is that in order to make this fresh start leap in consciousness, we must first be firmly rooted in the universal principles that bind us together and orchestrate our lives in the grand symphony of unconditional love and interrelatedness. From this strong foundation, we must then harness the power of our truly free will force and inventiveness in order to get to the root of the problems currently confronting us and ultimately solve them. I am especially struck by the last sentence above: “What is most needed is the ABILITY TO RELATE SEEMINGLY UNRELATED FACTS.” One very timely example of just this is the new documentary Thrive (www.thrivemovement.com) which was launched on 11.11.11 and is currently sweeping the internet. I highly recommend Thrive as a powerful tool toward creating the kind of critical mass that is necessary for the evolutionary shift to occur.

Shamanic Descent and Rebirth (10/28/11)Astrologer, Tara McKinney, highlights the days, weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, using transits to the Mayan Chichen Itza, 2012, sunrise chart as his primary reference point. Tara will be weighing in with timely insights and reflections regarding cycles and events as they unfold worldwide, so check in with us regularly for the latest developments and breaking news.

Shamanic Descent and Rebirth On Wednesday, October 26th, we will experience a Samhain New Moon in Libra (sidereal). Samhain is the ancient name for the Pagan New Year now commonly known as Halloween and celebrated on October 31st. In the ancient Pagan tradition, the New Moon immediately preceding Samhain was known as a Samhain New Moon. It served as a portal opening into a liminal period between the Samhain New Moon and Samhain, itself, which was called No-Time or the Time Between. This No-Time or Time Between is a magical interval during which the old must die before the new can be born and a New Year can begin. Mundane laws of time and space are suspended, along with consensus reality, and the veil between this world and the Otherworld becomes very thin. This is a time for communicating with one’s ancestors and departed loved ones, as well as for studying and practicing the rituals of shamanic descent and rebirth taught by the ancient Mystery Schools. 12+ degrees Scorpio Moon (October 28, 2011, 6:30 p.m. PDT): Smack dab in the middle of this liminal No-Time space from October 26th to October 31st (during which a portal will open into a collective, shamanic descent and rebirth process), on the evening of October 28th the Moon will arrive at an exact conjunction with the Venus activation point in the Chichen Itza 2012 chart’s Finger of Fate formation. As noted in the introduction above, this rare and very karmic configuration, involving Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter, with Venus at its activation point, symbolizes the call for deep transformation and spiritual liberation accomplished out of the cleansing fires of a heart-centered, global revolution in consciousness and socio/political structures. The Sabian Symbol for this Scorpio Moon position supports this view:
As we enter this sacred space between the worlds together, it is more important than ever to embrace life as a laboratory of experience and experimentation. Strive to see everything that happens, no matter how seemingly random or trivial, as a clue and a catalyst leading you in the direction of your deepest knowing. Grab life by the roots and pull. Practice your powers of discernment in order to understand how everything is related to everything else. The Moon in Scorpio will help you in this regard. According to channeled material from Edgar Cayce, which can be applied to humanity as a whole:

Full Flowering of Spiritually-based Community (10/11/11)
In my first installment of this feature, I outlined what I considered the most significant aspect of the December 21, 2012, sunrise chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico: its exact conjunction between the Ascendant, Sun, Juno and Galactic Center, symbolizing the sacred marriage of masculine and feminine principles and the subsequent birth of a new, awakened version of humanity. Full Moon (Tuesday, October 11, 7:06 p.m. PDT): The Full Flowering of Spiritually-based Community The sidereal chart for October 11th shows a beautiful Full Moon at 24+ degrees of Pisces in the Pisces decanate (last 10 degrees of the sign) in the 11th house, symbolizing the full flowering of a world-wide, spiritually-based community. This Full Moon is especially potent from an evolutionary standpoint in that it happens to conjunct the Moon in the Chichen Itza sunrise chart for 2012, which is at 20+ degrees of Pisces, also in the Pisces Decanate. In the afternoon hours of Tuesday, October 11th, as the Moon approaches the moment of exact fullness at 7:06 p.m. PDT, it transits past the Chichen Itza 2012 Moon, opening a portal into the possibility of a true and lasting marriage of divine masculine and feminine principles on a global scale, along with our subsequent rebirth as an illumined species and the reality of a spiritually-based community for all of humankind. It does this by means of the blended Piscean energies of mystical Neptune and expansive Jupiter. Here’s what Edgar Cayce has to say on the subject of the Moon in Pisces from the standpoint of past-life experience:
As is often the case, the past-life information from Edgar Cayce related to Moon cycles lines up nicely with the corresponding Sabian Symbol for this Full Moon placement. This particular Sabian Symbol is especially significant because it is the 355th symbol in the vast 360 degree cycle of the zodiac, leading directly to the series of five symbols which conclude the cycle, symbolizing “the final consummation of the process of actualization of the potency inherent in the original Creative Act.” In keeping with the theme of a world-wide, spiritually-based community, below is the description of the Sabian Symbol for the October 11th Full Moon in Pisces:
As the Full Moon locks into position at 7:09 p.m. on October 11th, having just transited past the Chichen Itza 2012 Moon in Pisces, something else very magical and auspicious occurs: The Venus activation point in the 2012 chart’s Finger of Fate points exactly (to the second) at Jupiter on the Ascendant in the Full Moon chart, reinforcing to the nth degree the already very potent and prevalent energies of spiritual expansion and rebirth. As this occurs, we draw upon our collective database of times spent in deep meditation and spiritual practice in the temples, ashrams and monasteries of earlier times. We engage in a process of remembering, reclaiming and recreating from the depths of our Souls for the greater good of all. |
The Alchemy of the Cosmic Womb (9/27/11)In my first installment of this feature, I outlined what I considered the most significant aspect of the December 21, 2012, sunrise chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico: its exact conjunction between the Ascendant, Sun, Juno and Galactic Center, symbolizing the sacred marriage of masculine and feminine principles and the subsequent birth of a new, awakened version of humanity. The Alchemy of the Cosmic Womb (9/27/11) By Tara McKinney At 4:09 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27 PDT, we have a New Moon at approximately 10 degrees Virgo (in the sidereal system), exactly conjunct the Sun, of course, but also in a packed stellium with Mercury, Venus, Saturn and Juno, all in the first house in Virgo! Four hours later, the New Moon (still in the company of Mercury, the Sun, Venus, Saturn and Juno) forms an exact sextile with the Venus activation point in the December 21, 2012, sunrise chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico. In these four short hours, though, the stellium of Virgo-based planets has migrated from the first to the twelfth house, associated with final liberation and the primordial pool of the deep, collective unconscious. Virgo represents the original, archetypal Great Goddess before she split into all the various, kaleidoscopic aspects of the Divine Feminine: self-contained, whole and complete unto Herself. This is a description of Mother Earth, the feminine aspect of the life force, itself, which doesn't need anything or anyone else in order to be complete. Another aspect of this feminine life force is Sophia, the Goddess of Wisdom, who is said to have existed before the emergence of any male deities. On the subject of the emergence of male deities, the Sabian Symbol for the New Moon in Virgo as it sextiles the 2012 Venus activation point in Scorpio is:
What this Sabian Symbol seems to foretell is a calling forth from deep within the collective unconscious of humanity, the womb of the Great Mother Goddess, of an entirely new kind of leader, one whose power comes from his or her openness to the evolutionary impulse toward full and final liberation of our species. The Mercury ruler of Virgo describes the intelligent and analytical nature of our collective movement forward, but since Virgo is an earth sign, this intelligence must be used in a practical way, working with matter and substance in order to perfect and heal it through various alchemical rituals. Edgar Cayce touches on this aspect of Virgo in his channeled material on the past-life associations with Sun and Moon in Virgo. Please keep in mind that this information can be understood to apply to the collective as well as to individuals within the collective:
A portal opens wide at this time into the very potent Great Goddess matrix of that which can never be violated: your essential nature, your original face before you were born. Return to the Cosmic Womb now, but with all of your faculties of Self-awareness and discernment intact. Tap into your intrinsic healing abilities at this time, cultivated through the collective experience of countless lifetimes lived in harmony with the Earth. You are an alchemist and Mother Nature is both that which gives birth to you and your medium of expression. Listen to the virginal, immaculate place within yourself, then go wherever you are guided to go and do as you are guided to do. In this way, the human species takes its next step in a series of unfoldings toward the fulfillment of our shared destiny.

Facing Intense Transformative Processes (9/9/11)In my first installment of this feature, I outlined what I considered the most significant aspect of the December 21, 2012, sunrise chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico: its exact conjunction between the Ascendant, Sun, Juno and Galactic Center, symbolizing the sacred marriage of masculine and feminine principles and the subsequent birth of a new, awakened version of humanity. Two weeks ago, I highlighted another very important feature of the 2012 chart: A Finger of Fate (Yod) formation involving Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter, with Venus at its activation point, symbolizing the revolutionary call for deep transformation and spiritual liberation. Facing Intense Transformative Processes (9/9/11) By Tara McKinney In the early morning hours of Monday, September 9th, we will be experiencing a very Saturnian Moon at 12+ degrees of Capricorn (sidereal ), exactly trining the Venus activation point in the December 21, 2012, Chichen Itza chart, and opening a portal into a time of accelerated growth in our individual and collective ability to face intense transformative processes and heavy responsibilities. Along these lines, the Sabian Symbol for this Moon placement reads, in part:
The much-respected psychic, Edgar Cayce, had some very interesting things to say about the sidereal Moon in Capricorn, which I share with you below because it adds another dimension to the topic under consideration. Keep in mind that this information is relevant for the entire human community on our shared evolutionary journey (as encapsulated in the December 21, 2012, Chichen Itza chart), as well as for individuals within the collective.
Facilitating all of the above, the Moon at 12+ degrees Capricorn resides in the lunar mansion Shravana (in Vedic Astrology), which is co-ruled by the Moon and Saturn. Again, we see the Moon/Saturn connection. The term Shravana is derived from the Sanskrit verb sru which means “to hear” and is symbolized by an ear, reflecting the ability to hear the subtle, etheric realms. This ability to hear one’s deep inner guidance explains why Shravana is known as “The Star of Learning” and associated with the Goddess of Learning, Sarasvati. Let Sarasvati be your guiding archetype during the very powerful Saturnian/Venusian/ Lunar window of opportunity which opens in the early morning hours of Friday, September 9, 2011, as you ebb and flow with the waters of accelerated growth and change, lovingly embracing levels of spiritual maturity and responsibility well beyond your chronological years. May we all be so blessed… |
The Revolutionary Call for Liberation (8/26/11)For those of you who have been following Mark Lerner’s insightful commentary in Planetary Renaissance, Mark will be shifting his focus to a new feature called AstroBiography, which Inner Sight/ILE will soon be launching, so please stay tuned for his first installment in early September. In his place, Tara McKinney has stepped in and will be offering her bi-weekly observations about the evolutionary process as it relates to Mayan prophecy. Please see her second installment below. Two weeks ago, I outlined what I considered the most significant aspect of the December 21, 2012, sunrise chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico: its exact conjunction between the Ascendant, Sun, Juno and Galactic Center, symbolizing the sacred marriage of masculine and feminine principles and the subsequent birth of a new, awakened version of humanity. For this installment, I will be highlighting another very important feature of the 2012 chart: A Finger of Fate (Yod) formation involving Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter, with Venus at its activation point. The Revolutionary Call for Liberation (8/26/11) By Tara McKinney Before I explain what a Finger of Fate configuration is in astrological terms, let me first paint a picture of its potential power to inspire revolutionary impulses (depending upon which planets, houses and constellations are involved, of course) through the lens of world affairs. In the last 400 years, there has been only one other Finger of Fate formation involving Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter, and that one occurred in 1989, pointing directly at the center of the seven week window of time coinciding with the Tiananmen Square Protests: a series of radical but peaceful demonstrations calling for social revolution in China. The demonstrations took place in and near Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, beginning on April 15, 1989, and culminating on June 4, 1989, with the Tiananmen Square Massacre, the horror of which was witnessed on TV sets around the world, in the era just preceding the advent of the internet. 1989 was also a year of radical political transformation in the Eastern Bloc, associated with the liberalization of authoritarian systems and the erosion of political power in pro-Soviet governments. The most poignant example of this wave of revolutionary change was symbolized by the dramatic dismantling of the Berlin Wall (the de facto Iron Curtain) and the stunning spectacle, again, witnessed on TV sets around the world, of East Germans triumphantly flooding into West Germany on that unforgettable day in early November, 1989. Both iconic events, the Tiananmen Square Massacre and the fall of the Berlin Wall, are forever etched in the collective memory of our species, no doubt: the first, in which the unquenchable thirst for freedom, evidenced through the courageous acts of countless everyday people, was met with the heartbreak of violent repression; the second in which that same cry for freedom was not denied or violently repressed, but was welcomed instead with an attitude of spontaneous, joyful celebration and heartfelt reunion. Finger of Fate From an astrological perspective, the Finger of Fate template might best be described as a small nuclear family, typically consisting of three planets, in which two harmoniously sextiling planets (60 degrees apart) function as repressive parents to the third planet, at which the Finger of Fate is pointing, and in relation to which they are inharmoniously inconjunct (150 degrees apart). If a fourth planet happens to directly oppose the third planet (180 degrees apart), that fourth planet is regarded as the activation point for whatever has been fated to occur. As such, it is capable of triggering major events which are difficult to handle and require great creativity to overcome, and, under the right circumstances, producing situations of dramatic reversal. In the 1989 and 2012 Finger of Fate configurations, the planets involved are Saturn and Pluto, in the role of the repressive parents (think repressive governments and/or the repressive parental aspect of your inner world), and Jupiter, in the role of the repressed child. Given that Saturn represents karma, or karmic return, Pluto is the planet of revolutionary transformation and Jupiter is associated with mass movements, expansion and spiritual attainment, it’s entirely understandable, that the people of China and the Eastern Bloc would heed the call, or the Finger of Fate(!), and, against all odds, put their lives on the line in pursuit of freedom. It should also come as no surprise, in retrospect, that the Berlin Wall came tumbling down. And all this, it’s important to note, was accomplished without benefit of a planet in the activation point position in the 1989 configuration. There wasn’t one. Venus Activation Point The December 21, 2012, Finger of Fate is another matter, however. As mentioned previously, we do have a planet in the activation point in the 2012 chart, and that planet is Venus. And Venus isn’t just any old planet in the Mayan scheme of things. It’s the planet around which the entire Mayan calendrical system and Mayan prophecy have been formulated. It is also an inner planet representing personal love, which is good news for a couple of reason: first, because love in any form is always a good thing; and second, because the rest of the planets in the 2012 Finger of Fate formation, Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter, are impersonal outer planets, so a personal, inner planet brings some balance to the overall equation. The picture that emerges when we combine the basic energy of this powerful Finger of Fate configuration with the template of sacred marriage and the birth of a new species (symbolized by the Ascendant/Sun/Juno/Galactic Center conjunction), is one in which such a marriage and rebirth will be accomplished out of the cleansing fires of a heart-centered, global revolution in consciousness and socio/political structures. Transiting Venus is currently trining the Venus activation point in the 2012 chart’s Finger of Fate, opening a portal into the revolutionary promise of this configuration and making it all the more timely and relevant for us today.

Sacred Marriage and the Birth of a New Species (8/12/11)For those of you who have been following Mark Lerner’s insightful commentary in Planetary Renaissance, a word of explanation is in order here. Mark will be shifting his focus to a new feature called AstroBiography, which Inner Sight/ILE will soon be launching, so please stay tuned for his first installment in early September. In his place, Tara McKinney will be stepping in to offer her bi-weekly observations about the evolution of human consciousness as it relates to Mayan prophecy. Please see her introductory comments below. The Mayan Calendar is based on the very profound and intricate relationships between the Earth, Sun, Moon, Venus and the Galactic Center, so I will be looking most closely at transits related to these planets and locations in the weeks and months leading up to December 21, 2012, and beyond. I will also be including the asteroid Juno very prominently in the mix, since it happens to be conjunct the Sun as well as the Galactic Center in the birth chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico, on December 21, 2012, at sunrise. What follows is a brief overview of that chart: Sacred Marriage and the Birth of a New Species (8/12/11) By Tara McKinney The most significant aspect of the December 21, 2012, sunrise chart for Chichen Itza, Mexico, is the near exact Sun/Juno conjunction on its Ascendant. What makes this conjunction all the more significant, is its alignment with the Center of our Milky Way Galaxy. From the Vedic perspective, which uses the sidereal system, the chart's Ascendant, Sun and Juno are within a couple of minutes of one another at 6 degrees of Sagittarius. This places them in the middle of the Lunar Mansion MULA, which encompasses the first 13 degrees of Sagittarius, demarcating the Galactic Center. The Galactic Center: The Sanskrit word MULA means "The Root," "The Center," "The Innermost Core." The deity associated with the Galactic Center is Nirriti (or "Calamity"), the Goddess of Destruction also depicted as Mother Kali. Like any super massive black hole worthy of the name, the black hole at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy points to the necessary dissolution that precedes new life. She is the great birth/death canal, the womb/ tomb of the Great Mother Goddess. Her roots are those of the inverted Tree of Life whose massive trunk and branches extends outward toward the Earth and beyond. From the point of view of Vedic Astrology, the essential energy of the Galactic Center is about quickly and unceremoniously cutting out and destroying everything that has lost its value and no longer serves the greater evolutionary purpose, especially those things that, like roots, are typically hidden from view. It is associated with a sharp, relentless type of energy which is absolutely fierce and will stop at nothing in its quest for spiritual liberation and the radical transmutation from lower to higher Selfhood. Juno: The Divine Consort John Major Jenkins, a long-time student of the Mayan Calendar and its mysteries, theorizes that the ancient Mayans knew, without benefit of modern, scientific instruments, that our solar system would align itself with the Galactic Center during the relatively narrow window of time in which we currently live (an event which occurs only once every 26,000 years for a period of approximately thirty-six years). Further, according to Jenkins interpretation of Mayan hieroglyphs and sacred texts, these ancient visionaries understood that the Earth and its people would be reborn at the time of the Winter Solstice, 2012, when Father Sun would align with Mother Galaxy. Here we see the theme of the sacred marriage which is so prominently displayed in the Chichen Itza chart for December 21, 2012. Juno, the asteroid symbolizing the sacred marriage of husband and wife or divine consorts, is conjunct both "Father Sun" and "Mother Galaxy" at the moment of birth or sunrise in the Chichen Itza chart. According to Demetre George, Juno symbolizes the yearning for full, emotionally, sexually and psychologically-fulfilling, deeply-committed, mystical union with a mate, as well as the range of suffering and neurotic complexes that arise to the extent She is thwarted in Her quest. Likewise, Juno is constitutionally unwilling and unable to accept less than a truly just and balanced relationship, and because She never ceases to fight against injustice in the relational context, Juno also rules those who fight for the rights of the underdog in the political, economic, educational and judicial arenas. The Sun: While Western Astrology typically associates the Sun with Spirit, enlightenment, vitality, innocence, splendor, brilliance and luminosity, Vedic astrology, with its pre-patriarchal roots, is more inclined to associate the Sun with oppressive, patriarchal aspects of ego; in other words, with the out of balance masculine. Both ways of understanding the Sun seem relevant to the Chichen Itza chart at this time in our evolutionary history. Perhaps Juno is pointing to the possibility of a sacred marriage between masculine and feminine, male and female, and the subsequent birth of a new, illumined species, as a result of Father Sun's alignment with the Galactic Mother. (For a more detailed overview of the Chichen Itza birth chart and it’s meaning for human evolution at this crucial time, please see The Forum feature on this topic in our Sacred Sciences section.)

Dynamic Weekend (7/28/2011)By Mark Lerner July 28 & 31, 2011: From the vantage point of traditional and esoteric astrology, the main reason December 21, 2012, looks provocative, intense and mysterious is that a profound and perplexing Finger of God or Yod type triangle looms over the Earth. This triangle is composed of Jupiter in Gemini, in retrograde motion, Saturn in Scorpio, and Pluto in Capricorn. Because each celestial body is located at the ninth degree of their respective signs, the Yod is at white-hot potency. On July 28 and 31, 2011, we have Jupiter (associated in ancient times with the capacity for precognition) one zodiacal sign earlier – in Taurus – making an opposition to the natal Saturn placement and a flowing trine of 120-degrees to the natal Pluto placement. Therefore, it is during this week that it may be possible to receive a grand vision, via dreams, insights, meditation and spiritual attunement, to what may come to fruition some 17 months from now. Yod triangles are composed of two, off-kilter 150-degree aspects and one, supportive, 60-degree connection. They are very difficult to decipher because you are dealing with three celestial bodies, three zodiacal signs, two aspects, and a variety of house placements – depending on where the main events on Earth are taking place. In addition, in the December 21, 2012, chart, Venus is within 2 degrees of an opposition to Jupiter, thereby bringing in a fourth celestial body into the overall cosmic picture. Nevertheless, some hints are available in that Jupiter and Saturn are the two largest planets in our solar system; hence, the key reason why so much emphasis has been placed on the so-called “end of the Mayan Calendar,” which is really the completion of a long count of over 5,000+ years and a shift into something else. Since Jupiter and Saturn are 150-degrees apart on December 21, 2012, and they are the largest planets in our galactic neighborhood, something off-kilter, awkward and not necessarily uplifting may occur and influence a good-sized portion of humanity and/or the Earth. However, the fact that distant Pluto – traditional ruler of extremes, terrorism and the underworld (when this planet functions in a negative way) – is also involved in the Yod and 150-degrees from giant Jupiter adds a big note of discomfort to the solstice time-period in December, 2012. This week’s opportunity to see into the future – with Jupiter making preliminary contacts with the natal Saturn and Pluto – will be repeated during September 28 and October, 1, 2011, and then again during March 9 & 10, 2012. Therefore, if you don’t receive a clear message from the soul/spiritual planes now, you may still experience a precognitive understanding of the December, 2012, reality later this year and in March of next year. (Note: Between the above two dates of July 28 & 31, a New Moon occurs on July 30 at 7+ degrees of Leo (11:41PM PDT). Not only does this New Moon provide a great boost of forward momentum across the board for all earthlings, during the next four weeks, but the solar and lunar vibrations are making a fairly close trine to the natal Venus placement at 7 degrees of Sagittarius. The creative, artistic and uplifting energy-field of Venus is evoked via this 120-degree alignment. You can use these higher-level Venusian qualities in discussions and meetings with friends, family members and colleagues during the dynamic July 30 – 31 weekend.) ©2011 by Mark Lerner and Great Bear Enterprises, Ltd. Planetary Renaissance: Playing the “Game of Life” (7/18/11)By Mark Lerner (Note: The designation “Natal” in the descriptions below refers to the celestial body placements in the 12/21/2012 Sunrise chart at Chichen-Itza, Mexico.) Monday July 18: The most significant transit this week occurs on Monday July 18. On that day, the Sun in Cancer is forming a flowing trine of 120-degrees to the natal Pallas in Pisces while transiting Pallas in Aquarius trines the natal Jupiter in Gemini. (These energy-fields will be developing on the day or two before, and they will remain in effect for 24 to 48 hours afterwards.) What we have here is essentially an activation of the two largest celestial bodies in the solar system – the Sun and Jupiter – along with a very prominent asteroid, Pallas. In ancient Roman and Greek mythology, Pallas or Athena (the Greek name for the same Goddess) was said to have been born full-armored from the head of her father Jupiter /Zeus. Whenever Pallas is a major factor in an astrology chart, the following key qualities and themes are likely to be highlighted in human affairs: the father-daughter connection; knowledge and wisdom; mental brilliance and genius; problem-solving; strategizing; research and think tanks; engineering and city planning; DNA and genetics; the immune system; arts and crafts (especially needlepoint and weaving); computer software programming and sophisticated gaming modules; and the ability to see patterns that the average person doesn’t see (as is the case with chess masters and child prodigies). The most Pallas-dominated individual I have ever studied is the former World Chess champion Bobby Fischer. He was born on March 6, 1943, with Pallas almost precisely trine Jupiter (one of the two alignments at work today), won the World Chess championship on September 1, 1972, on the day of a rare Sun-Pallas union in the sky, and died on January 17, 2008, when Pallas exactly returned to its natal position in his horoscope.* Since Pallas takes between 3 and 4 years to make one full orbit around the zodiac, to die at a Pallas Return is to reveal to humanity that this specific asteroid and its archetypal qualities are the most vital part of your personality and soul-path in that lifetime. (*The New Moon just before the birth of Bobby Fisher was right on top of his natal Pallas. The eminent astrologer Dane Rudhyar called such an alignment – when the lunation prior to birth is conjunct any celestial body in a horoscope – the Channel of Destiny.) A comprehensive documentary – Bobby Fischer Against the World – was shown in early June on HBO and, in one of the many scenes, you see Bobby Fischer playing, simultaneously, about 50 chess games against highly-skilled players. As mentioned earlier, Pallas-dominated individuals have a unique capacity to see patterns, and possibly future events, that most people cannot visualize or decipher. Whether you are just up for playing games of strategy and chance for fun today or exploring in the deepest levels of meaning in the universal “Game of Life,” consider Pallas/Athena your guiding force, or Goddess of enlightenment, as this week unfolds on Spaceship Earth. ©2011 by Mark Lerner and Great Bear Enterprises, Ltd. Rich Reservoirs of Inspiration (7/11/11)By Mark Lerner Monday July 11: It turns out that on this day there are at least 10 alignments activating the future Mayan Calendar tipping point of December 21, 2012. I only want to discuss two of the main aspects – Mars in Gemini transiting on the natal Vesta, and Venus in Cancer transiting opposite the natal Pluto. Plus – I am going to look at these zodiacal connections from a more universal standpoint than I have in previous posts. Anytime Mars activates another celestial body, you need to be awake, alert and engaged in the proceedings. Vesta equates with sisterhoods and fellowships, home and hearth, the Eternal Flame (symbolizing the fires of life that sustain towns, communities and city-states), insuring what is valuable, investments across the board, as well as the realm of global economic markets. While Mars is activating the natal Vesta on July 11 – an aspect that is building up in strength for a day or two before, and remaining potent for a day or two afterwards – we have something more extraordinary happening in the solar system. As I have reported on this website in a blog concerning the Dawn spacecraft, we are about to have a sophisticated, human-designed creation go into orbit around Vesta at the end of this week – Saturday July 16, if all goes well. Dawn will be the first spacecraft to take close-up photos of any of the major asteroids, in this case Vesta – one of the four main asteroids discovered in the early 1800s. You will want to read Part I and Part II of the blog on Vesta, and what all of this could mean for us on Planet Earth. Meanwhile, the wider implications of Mars transiting the natal Vesta is that all of us need to consider – far more seriously than we have ever done – what is of true value to us in our lives, as well as how to protect and safeguard our resources and loved ones, in the coming twilight-zone ahead, during the rest of 2011, all of 2012, and beyond. In addition, since Vesta has so much to do with the investment realm as well as sisterhoods, women around the globe ought to be in the forefront of finding ways to reorient the corrupt influences in the banking systems and on Wall Street that have been turning our daily lives into a cavalcade of financial worries, amplified by national debt crises, and wildly-fluctuating commodities, precious metals and international currencies. Meanwhile, Venus – which has so much to do with our savings and natural resources – forms an opposition or polarity to the natal Pluto. Most astrological researchers would see this as somewhat negative – where creative artistry, love bonds, business matters, and even simple, friendly interchanges are being zapped by the Dark Side of the Force. But does it have to be this way? The higher side of any opposition is that it contains a Full-Moon type interchange of energies. Therefore, we can say with some assurance that a Venus-Pluto opposition is actually a possible illuminating exchange between two celestial bodies on either side of the Earth. In this situation, Pluto is similar to the Sun, and Venus would play the role of the Moon. [This is because just as the Moon moves much more rapidly than the Sun, Venus moves much more rapidly than Pluto.] The bottom line is that Venus and Pluto on July 11 can symbolize a deep-seated transformation (Pluto) of our value systems (Venus). And this can happen through our primary partnerships (the opposition sky pattern of 180-degrees). On July 11 (with an upbeat Sagittarius Moon presence supporting your efforts), realize that something profound and magical is taking place here on Earth. The alignments mentioned above can be rich reservoirs of inspiration from which you can clarify and strengthen your values, while renewing your self-confidence and optimistic mind-set – whether you are concerned about money, investments, taking care of loved ones, or improving the quality of your most important relationships. ©2011 by Mark Lerner and Great Bear Enterprises, Ltd. From Frazzled to Jazzed (7/1/11)By Mark Lerner (Note: The designation “natal” in the descriptions below refers to the celestial body placements in the 12/21/2012 Sunrise chart at Chichen-Itza, Mexico.) Friday July 1: Today’s New Moon and Partial Solar Eclipse (10 degrees of Cancer) are happening just after the Sun has formed a polarity to the natal Pluto placement. This eclipse is also activating the seventh house of the Mayan Calendar Dec. 21, 2012 chart at sunrise. Therefore, communicate with friends, associates and dear ones about your views on everything Mayan right now and over this weekend. Sharing vital information is the key to everyone becoming more enlightened about the Mayan celestial philosophy and way of life. Sunday July 3: For the only time before Dec. 21, 2012, transiting Mars unites with the natal Jupiter in Gemini. A dynamic expansion of consciousness wants to occur. That expansion can be for you and for the entire Mayan renaissance movement across the board. Engage others in debate – as long as the conversations stay positive and respectful. Venus in Cancer forms a polarity to the natal Sun in Capricorn, and Venus simultaneously enters the seventh house as July 3 morphs into July 4 – helping all communications about the Mayan Calendar events to stay reasonably harmonious and friendly in nature. Your love for everything Mayan can now grow by leaps and bounds as Venus was – more than any other celestial body – a repository of celestial happiness and inspiration for this ancient cultural world. Monday July 4: Venus remains strong today as it forms a flowing trine to the natal Neptune, and makes a polarity to the natal Juno. Study more about the mystical, religious and spiritual components of the Mayan way of life. Consider joining up with sisterhoods and fellowships – online or via actual, physical meetings – that are dedicated to following the intricacies of how the Mayan Calendar’s numerous cycles are unfolding in the future. In addition, Mercury trines the natal Uranus in fire signs. Keep sailing along with the insights offered by various authors and especially the inspired teachings of Carl Johan Calleman. Tuesday July 5: Don’t forget that learning about the Mayan Calendar can introduce strong healing currents into your life. This is not simply a focus on whether the world as we know it will end or be transformed and reborn. With giant Jupiter making a supportive, 60-degree alliance with the natal Chiron today, holistic healing vibrations – coming from the entire Mayan culture – can enter your mind, heart and soul right now. Chiron is also associated with the spiritual essence of The Rainbow Bridge* – a technique for synthesizing spirit-mind-body via meditation, affirmations and visualization exercises. (*For more on the core meaning of The Rainbow Bridge or Antahkarana, see over two dozen masterworks by Alice A. Bailey of the Lucis Publishing Company.) Thursday July 7: Sometimes newcomers to the Mayan universe will become discouraged – due to doubts about what is to come or exhaustion from all the prodigious studies and the complex process by which days, weeks, months and years are distinguished in the calendar work. With the Sun square to the natal Moon, Mercury square to the natal Saturn, and Venus square to the natal Uranus, this may be a day when you feel overwhelmed by the profundity of these esoteric studies. However, Mercury makes a supportive and constructive, 60-degree rapport with the natal Jupiter (the main optimistic sky God). This interaction can turn your mind from frazzled to jazzed as you find ways to get back on board the Mayan express train to a dazzling future regeneration once the old, long cycle of the Mayan Calendar ends and something is born to take its place in all our lives. © 2011 by Mark Lerner and Great Bear Enterprises. Visions of a More Sacred Earth & Evolved Humanity (6/23/11)By Mark Lerner This weekly transit section will usually contain several alignments, but with the Inner Sight/ILE launch happening this week, one major transit towers above all the rest: Transiting Neptune reaches 0 degrees and 49 minutes of Pisces today and thereby makes its second contact with the eventual natal placement of Neptune on December 21, 2012. (Neptune first reached this degree placement on May 13, 2011.) This may sound a little perplexing – far-out Neptune on Thursday, June 23, 2011 contacting its future position on December 21, 2012, but let me explain why this is happening now and what it could mean. Because Neptune takes approximately 165 years to orbit the Sun, and like all the planets, will appear to slow down, stop, go retrograde, slow down again, stop and go direct (all from the Earth’s point of view), it can sometimes inhabit a single degree of the 360-degree circle of the zodiac several times over approximately a year and a half. This is precisely what is going on with Neptune in the sky at 0 degrees and 49 minutes of Pisces – having already occurred on May 13, 2011, now on June 23, 2011, and eventually on February 24-25, 2012, September 30, 2012, and then, finally, on December 21, 2012. Therefore, in five similar passes through the same point in the zodiac, the mysterious, revelatory, magical and dream-enhancing planet Neptune dances its way in, around, back and forth at this beginning degree of the sign of poetry, mysticism, psychic sensitivity, and creative imagining – Pisces. While the other two outer planets – revolutionary Uranus and underworld-ruling Pluto – will each make two early unions in 2012 with their natal placements for the December 21, 2012, chart, Neptune is doubling up on that number by making four early unions in 2011 and 2012 before the December 21, 2012, culminating moment. The key importance of these four early unions by Neptune is that they give everyone who is purposefully tuned into the Mayan Calendar several dates for heightened meditation and contemplation on the subject, plus opportunities to study Mayan culture, history and myth more deeply and to share what you are learning with dear ones, friends and open-minded associates. One of Neptune’s higher functions is to serve as an enlightened community builder. This is also one of the purposes behind Inner Sight/ILE’s new website. Rather than envisioning December 21, 2012, as the End of the World, the positive potency of Neptune – illuminated in the hearts and minds of keen students of the western mystery tradition and the secret teachings of all ages – is to bring us together for a World Renaissance or Rebirth. It is said that Pluto connects to conception, Neptune to pregnancy and the womb experience, and Uranus to birth in the physical realm. If this is so, then Neptune also signifies that lunar ten-month cycle of gradual evolution of life, in a protective environment, a kind of Garden of Eden paradise we all distantly remember from our pre-birth epoch. Therefore, utilize these transits by Neptune to tap into your visions of a more sacred Earth and a more evolved Humanity coming into being after December 21, 2012, has occurred.

Enormous Potentials for Deep-Seated Awakenings (5/13/11)By Mark Lerner (NOTE: The designation “natal” in the descriptions below refers to the celestial body placements in the 12/21/2012 Sunrise chart at Chichen-Itza, Mexico.) FRIDAY, MAY 13: This weekly transit section will usually contain several alignments, but with the Inner Sight/ILE launch happening on May 11 one major transit towers above all the rest: Transiting Neptune reaches 0 degrees and 49 minutes of Pisces this Friday May 13th (a Friday the Thirteenth no less) and thereby makes its first contact with the eventual natal placement of Neptune on December 21, 2012. This may sound a little perplexing – far-out Neptune on Friday May 13, 2011, contacting its future position on December 21, 2012, but this is why it is happening now and what it could mean. Because Neptune takes approximately 165 years to orbit the Sun and like all the planets will appear to slow down, stop, go retrograde, slow down again, stop and go direct (all from the Earth’s point of view), it can sometimes inhabit a single degree of the 360-degree circle of the zodiac several times over around a year and a half. This is what is precisely going on with Neptune in the sky at 0 degrees and 49 minutes of Pisces occurring on May 13, 2011, then again on June 21, 2011 (the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere), February 24-25, 2012, September 30, 2012, and then, finally, on December 21, 2012. While the other two outer planets – revolutionary Uranus and underworld-ruling Pluto – will each make two early unions in 2012 with their natal placements for the December 21, 2012, event, Neptune is doubling up on that number by making four early unions in 2011 and 2012 before December 21, 2012 occurs. One of Neptune’s higher functions is to serve as an enlightened community builder. This is one of the purposes behind Inner Sight/ILE as a website. Rather than envisioning December 21, 2012, as the End of the World, the positive potency of Neptune – illuminated in the hearts and minds of keen students of the Western Mystery Tradition and the Secret Teachings of All Ages – is to bring us together for a World Renaissance or Rebirth. Therefore, utilize these transits by Neptune to tap into your visions of a more sacred Earth and a more evolved Humanity coming into being after December 21, 2012 has occurred. Note Concerning Sunday May 15 and Monday May 16: On May 15, the planets Venus and Mercury – which have merged with giant Jupiter in the sky on the day of the official Inner Sight/ILE launch of May 11 – will both reach 0+ degrees of Taurus and form flowing trines of 120 degrees to the natal Sun and Rising Degree at 0+ degrees of Capricorn in the Dec. 21, 2012, chart. On May 16, Venus and Mercury will move on to make supportive, 60 degree alignments to the natal, visionary Neptune placement. Therefore, Sunday May 15 and Monday May 16 have enormous potentials for deep-seated awakenings about everything connected to the Mayan Calendar as well as the themes of sacred marriage on all levels and the procreative energy-fields discussed by Tara McKinney in her fascinating initial contribution to the Mayan 2012 Forum.
