Full Moon in Virgo, February 25th, 2013
Illuminating Child Consciousness in a Changing World
By Isha Lerner
The Full Moon occurs on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, as Venus conjuncts Neptune. This radiant and dazzling aspect brings a heightened energy perfect for romance, intuitive work, ocean frolicking, and dreaming. In esoteric astrology, Neptune is the higher octave of the planet Venus, the planet of love and beauty. This Moon/Neptune conjunction encourages selflessness as we become aware of our spiritual nature. We can be easily influenced, compassionate and highly sensitive. The door to the inner sanctuary will swing open, and we may feel more receptive and child-like. The ocean of emotions may feel irresistibly gullible.
On a vibrational level, Neptune rules energy medicine, flower essences, color therapy, and all other forms of energy work. It also rules the Divine Heart of Nature and the incandescent aura of light only a flower in bloom can reveal. Imagine the shimmering sweetness of Neptune as it drinks in the fountain of light from the Moon. During the peak of the Full Moon on February 24th, 25th, and 26th, utilize this sheer magnetism to raise the bar on self-realization.
In spite of Neptune’s magical influences, stay alert. This Full Moon may feel overwhelming due to a mid point aspect with Jupiter. Jupiter will transit between the sun and the moon, creating a square to each. By tapping into core emotions, seek to harness raw energy through concentration and discernment, especially as it relates to an ability to stay clear of illusion.
The Full Moon in Virgo gives offers a chance to fulfill a desire to serve. This moon of servicer renders an invitation to move beyond glamour. In a sense, the Full Moon is like a Kind Maiden; a kind hearted energy aimed toward goodwill. One might imagine the fairy tale archetype of Snow White.
We can learn about the energy of the Full Moon through the wisdom of the Sabian Symbol at 8 degrees Virgo:
A Five Year Old Child Takes a First Dancing Lesson
Keynote: Learning to use one’s capacity for emotional self-expression according to cultural standards.
The Process of emotional experience under controlled situations is shown now to demand self-induced, active movement; yet the movements are still conditioned, if not totally determined, by cultural and thus collective patterns. The individual is still responsible to an outer authority yet new perspectives regarding individuation have become imminent.
In a sense, the child-consciousness is still dominated by outer circumstances, but if the child is ‘five years old,’ the implication is that he/she is entering the level of awareness represented by the number 5, the five-pointed star, which outlines the Potentiality of Initiation which may lead to mastery.
Thus, the Neptunian influence calls for sacrifice. In the modern world ‘sacrifice’ has lost its core meaning; to make life sacred. Ultimately, under the influence of the Full Moon, the individual may become more aware of the gift they wish to give to the world. This gift may very well be the dawning of a New Consciousness; the mindfulness found within the art of giving.
The energy of the Full Moon lasts for the next two weeks. Behold its beauty.
